CREATING LOTA SKATE PARK FOR THRILLING AND SAFE RIDES
The Lota Skate Park in Brisbane, QLD, was a passion project where I collaborated with a fellow cadet to design a fun and challenging skate park. Volunteering my free time for the local Rotaract group, this project allowed me to blend professional skills with community service, ensuring a safe and enjoyable space for skaters.
Project Highlights:
Collaborative Design: Worked on creative ideas for the skate park design alongside a fellow cadet, fostering teamwork and innovation.
Volunteer Effort: Dedicated my free time to the project through the local Rotaract group, contributing to the community and supporting local initiatives.
Detailed Planning: Produced 90% of the detailing plan work for the skate park, ensuring precise and accurate designs.
Mentorship: Verified the detailing work completed by the cadet, ensuring accuracy and quality in the final design.
Drainage Challenge: Tackled the project's drainage challenges, providing effective solutions to prevent flooding and maintain a safe skating environment.
Comprehensive Design: Included the servicing car park in the project, enhancing the overall functionality and accessibility of the skate park.
Structural Collaboration: Collaborated with the structural team at Qantec, who completed the renovation design for the PCYC building adjacent to the skate park.
Personal Connection: This project holds a personal significance as I look forward to visiting the skate park with my son, sharing the joy of skating together.
The Lota Skate Park project exemplifies my ability to combine professional expertise with community service. It highlights my dedication to creating safe, enjoyable, and functional recreational spaces, ensuring a positive impact on the local community.
